Check scales are used, for example, in the CONTROLLER to record the confirmation of opened items.

Setting up Kern scales for use with the CONTROLLER

The description may vary depending on the type and age of the balance. Avoid unnecessary misunderstandings and order the balance from Hypersoft or their specialist trade partners.

Example Type Kern PCB 6000

Switch on the balance and wait until it is ready for operation (0 g is shown in the display).

  1. Press and hold PRINT until Unit appears on the display.
  2. Press MODE/CAL once and Pr appears in the display. Confirm once by pressing the SET/M button.
  3. Press MODE/CAL repeatedly until AU PC is shown in the display.
  4. Press SET/M to save.

In the menu of the scale, set the menu item "Pr" to "AU PC" ( permanent data output ).

Setup in the program

Select Kern scale, select port accordingly and set the baud rate to 9600 baud:

Administrators and Installers

The programming of the scale is completed. The function can be checked with a "Standard Terminal Commander" (e.g. Hercules Terminal Commander). The following settings must be made there:

  • - Select serial
  • - Select the COM port to which the balance was connected (e.g. COM 1).
  • - Set baud rate to 9600
  • - Set handshake to off
  • Press the PRINT key on the scale to display the weight in the "Standard Terminal Commander".
