Use virtual checkout station

You can set up virtual POS stations within the POS system. These different configurations can then be applied as needed by switching on the Virtual Cashier Station. By switching over, a different cash register number can be used, for example, which can then also be treated differently in evaluations. For simple layout changes, on the other hand, such as breakfast menu and lunch menu on the cash register keyboard, there are simpler solutions, for example with the event manager or simple layout change. But if your breakfast cash register is to act as an event cash register with other order positions, other account assignment and delimited evaluation, then the virtual cash station is the solution.

This function does not require any further licences and can be used as required with a Hypersoft POS Full-Service or Hypersoft POS Quick-Service licence.

Points of sale and POS numbers

By assigning a point of sale to the virtual checkout, you can determine which items are available and which point of sale is used for merchandise management. Likewise, the (different) cash register number of the virtual cash register station is used to pass on the bookings in the hotel connection, so that you can also use this function in these subsequent systems.

Setting up virtual cash register stations

The setup of a virtual cash register station takes place in the station administration. Create a new station and set the type Virtual Checkout Station in the station details. You can also add this virtual checkout station to a different profit center.

You must assign a profit center to this virtual checkout. This profit center used must also be assigned to at least one other cash desk at which a day-end closing is performed. This is the only way to ensure that the bookings of the Virtual Cash Station are taken into account in the Front Office reports.

The option Report per cashregister , does not work with Virtual Cash Stations, because their bookings cannot be used for this.

Activating the Virtual Cash Station

The Virtual Cash Station can be started by entering the cash register number or by a function macro with the cash register function Initiate Virtual Cash Register. By entering 0 (zero) and Initiate Virtual Checkout, the Virtual Checkout Station is switched off. The manually initiated Virtual Cash Station is also switched off when the cashier mode is switched off, so that it is no longer used after a restart. This is different when initiating the Virtual Checkout Station with the event manager .

You can use the Event Manager to automatically initiate a virtual cash register station at a certain time set in advance. This then applies for the set period, even if the cashier mode is interrupted.

Virtual checkout station with layout change

No separate keyboard layout can be programmed for a virtual cash register station. However, you can change the layout. This can also run in a function key macro.

This example loads the Virtual Checkout No. 21 and the layout number 4 (keyboard layout of itself):
