Things to note about the collection monitor
Special support training is required for the installation, customisation and operation of the collection monitor. The collection monitor is an extension of the Hypersoft POS system. Customers and guests receive information about their order via the pick-up monitor. The operations are read out via the HS WEBBL.
Parts in this document are for trained support only. The software is partly set via configuration files, the JSON files can be edited by a standard editor. A misconfiguration leads to a system that functions incorrectly or not at all.
Components of the pick-up monitor
The pick-up monitor system usually consists of a monitor / TV as a display for the guest and a tablet for control by the service staff. We offer various solutions in order to optimally fulfil customer requirements:
Native: The pick-up monitor system consists of a monitor / TV with a connected Windows PC for the guest's display and a Windows tablet for the service staff to control. The customer procures the PC, tablet, monitor or TV hardware independently. Mini PC and tablet could also be supplied by Hypersoft at the customer's request, monitor/TV not.
Web: The pick-up monitor system here consists of a monitor / TV with a connected player for display to the guest and a tablet for control by the service staff. A web application is then used instead of a native application.
Hybrid: The data is mainly accessed and processed in the cloud. This means that cost-effective, hybrid solutions can be offered, e.g. by using an existing cash register or using the ControlPanel on your own mobile device.
The customer procures the PC, tablet, monitor or TV hardware independently. Mini PC and tablet could also be supplied by Hypersoft at the customer's request, monitor/TV not.
Pick-up monitor Display for the guest
Any TV or monitor is suitable for the pick-up monitor display. Full HD (1920x1080) is recommended as the minimum resolution.
In addition to the display, a PC and holder (e.g. inexpensive Windows Mini PC) are required. Depending on the scope of the media content (images, videos, animation, digital signage), a PC with more performance is required. Consultation or advice is required for this.
A player with a modern browser (own provision) is also suitable for a pick-up monitor web solution without complex media content.
Handheld / ControlPanel: POS or tablet for controlling the collection monitor for the service force
The control software can be installed in parallel on the POS system and can be started there by calling up the programme from checkout mode.
In most cases, the installation is carried out on an external tablet. We recommend the Hypersoft Windows tablet with the appropriate holder for optimum operation of the pick-up monitor (LAN connection recommended, WLAN connection possible).
Apple or Android tablets are suitable for a browser-based collection monitor web solution.
OrderTracker / Virtual Pager (optional licence)
By scanning a QR code on the pick-up monitor or self-created sticker, the OrderTracker is called up on the customer's smartphone in their browser. This offers customers the opportunity to transfer the status of their order directly to their mobile device and thus stay informed about the status even outside the direct field of vision of the monitor.
Interfaces to the collection monitor
One component of the collection monitor requires access to the 3rd party eSolutions API. This is given with IF 01: eSolutions and App Integration or IF 01: eSolutions Payment-Only. Otherwise, no direct access to the Hypersoft POS system is required.
Collection monitor software components
The collection monitor consists of several software modules:
1. Collection Monitor Portal" module for receiving, saving and providing created processes for the collection monitor. The module is a "hosted web service", i.e. a web application on the World Wide Web. In addition, customer data, locations and configurations are managed there and operating instructions and FAQs are provided.
2. Hypersoft WebBL Connector" module for loading sales data from the Hypersoft eCommerce interface (HS WEB BL) and forwarding it to the "Collection Monitor Portal" web application. This module is usually installed on the central Hypersoft server in the branch. Otherwise, the installation takes place where the HS WEB BL interface is provided.
3. Collection Monitor Handheld" or "Collection Monitor ControlPanel" module, which is the central control panel for managing processes. This module is usually installed on the Windows tablet. However, it can also run on a cash register.
4. Pick-up monitor display" module for displaying processes in preparation and processes ready for pick-up. In addition, images, videos and advertising content can be integrated. This module is usually installed on a Windows-compatible computer (mini PC) that is directly connected to the large collection monitor display.
5. OrderTracker" module (if booked), a web service for displaying current processes (i.e. "In preparation" and "Ready for collection" processes) and for tracking these processes. This optional module runs on the World Wide Web.
