SKIDATA interface

The Austrian company Skidata AG manufactures access systems for public spaces, for example for tourist facilities, car parks, sports stadiums, amusement parks and trade fairs. Skidata became known as a provider of automatic access systems for ski lifts. Over 10,000 systems have been installed worldwide and the company is represented in 26 countries with subsidiaries and partners in 90 countries.

This topic concerns project work that is subject to planning.

The Hypersoft // system is a standard programme that can be used in many different configurations. The correct application of the topics described here requires expert knowledge and an alignment of expectations, and not all Hypersoft employees and partners are equally trained in all of the topics labelled in this way. For this reason, we characterise these topics as project work requiring planning, so that you can contact your Hypersoft sales partner or Hypersoft Support in good time with this necessary planning. This approach ensures that we record your requirements carefully and respond to them in a targeted manner.

The SKIDATA parking system contains special settings and authorizations. These usually consist of an IP of the main computer, a so-called facility name, the facility ID and a port. In addition, the main computer has a Microsoft SQL database that can be accessed with the DB name, a DB user, its DB password and a data decryption key. A parking bonus can be determined in the Hypersoft POS POS system (not with mPOS). A type1 is currently available for this, which can be linked to an internal customer table. The extent of the bonus is determined by setting up the external card system.

The external card system consists of a short name from the SKIDATA settings, a prefix and a SKIDATA item number. This makes it possible to obtain a discount at a car park ticket machine using a magnetic card. Each deposited card can thus receive a so-called bonus once a day. The comparison between the Hypersoft POS system and the parking system is also realized via this interface.

The internal card system is used for the transmission and assignment of a Hypersoft item. Any SKIDATA hardware to be reported, whether a car park vending machine for sales or a vending machine for an exit, is recognized or recorded as a station and carried with the booking data. The selectable time "Pingtime" is decisive for the continuous test cycle of the SKIDATA system. Every x milliseconds, a ping is sent to the IP of the main computer and in the event of an error is logged and indicated with a red background color. The selectable time for checking parking tickets is important for the minimum time between selling a parking ticket and posting it in the SKIDATA parking system.

Long-term parking tickets are also read out and transferred to the cash register system.

Alternatives in the Skidata interface

In systems where the magnetic stripe content is different from the printed barcode, the reading hardware can be stored differently in the Skidata system. So that Hypersoft can transmit these different contents to the interface. the Hypersoft system uses both an alternate label and an associated alternate SKIDATA part number. With the switch Support alternative designation with barcode prefix you activate these alternatives in the interface.
