Known limitations of tap connections
Dispensing systems are by no means all-rounders. Often they imply to replace controlling by massive investments, which in practice fails for different reasons. Dispensing systems can make an intelligent and highly efficient contribution to control, speed up transactions and ensure a high level of quality. For this a good planning is indicated, which is co-ordinated best together with the cash partner.
Debit-side postings
You can assign function numbers to several items. However, if a booking (represented by a function number) is received from the dispensing system, it can only be assigned to the first item in the Hypersoft item master at random.
Solution: You should only use unique function numbers for postings to customer premises.
Representation in the Operation Overview
It may happen that an operator activates the table overview before all bookings from the dispensing system have been processed.
In such cases, the target transactions of the postings are displayed as occupied tables, but since the total has not yet been determined, only points appear instead of amounts.
Small selection of table numbers
Depending on the dispensing system manufacturer, only small ranges can be used for table numbers. For example WMF: only three-digit table numbers, Gruber four-digit. This is taken into account in the dispensing system interface.
Solution: You can assign a territory to the operator.
The problem with the table lock
If your operators do not have access to all tables, you want to ensure that no operator (without this setting) other than the first operator to book on a table has access to this operation.
Depending on the dispensing system, there may be problems with the timely blocking of the table. If, for example, an operator at the dispensing system opens table 1, the table lock is sent to the POS system with the first item booking. In the meantime, however, another operator may have occupied the same table at the POS system. Habimat dispensing systems can generally not manage a table lock, so in conjunction with Habimat the problem is permanent.
Some dispensing systems also allow booking without having to enter a table number. To be able to settle these postings, however, you must be able to call them up in one transaction.
Solution: use the table number offset setting in the Setdispensing areas dialog. This means that such postings are caught in a transaction that is assigned to an operator. He can transfer or settle the postings from there.
The virtual table number offset adds the operator number with the set offset value and generates a virtual table number from the sum to store the bookings in it. Example: Your entry for the offset number is 800 and a booking comes to table 0 from the operator of number 12 (from the dispensing system). The CLOU then creates a transaction table number 812 and stores the posting there.
Use the Graphical Table Overview and set up an area where these offset table numbers are displayed in a special area.
You should always set up a number for the table number offset, otherwise these entries would be discarded.
If you are working with a Gruber/Dirmeier dispensing system, you can activate the team function in the interface to use the entire functionality in the network.
Please note:
- There's no transaction area on the dispensing system.
- If a team member books a table at the cash register that is outside the transaction area, the operator has the responsibility for the transaction. Another operator - without the appropriate authorization - cannot reach this table. The dispensing system cannot differentiate this and allows any other operator in the team to do the same. If a booking is attempted with this unauthorized access, this intercepts the bar system connection and transfers the booking to the virtual table number offset of the booking operator (setting the bar system connection).
- If a team member creates a new table at the dispensing system that is outside the transaction area, the dispensing system connection checks the operator's authorization and decides:
- If the operator is allowed to book outside the transaction area, the operator receives the transaction responsibility and the bookings are not assigned to the team.
- If the operator is not allowed to book outside the team, the bookings are transferred to the virtual table number offset of the booking operator. The operator himself can no longer open the operation at the checkout because it is outside the operation area. The table remains locked in the dispensing system even though it does not exist in the POS system. An operator must open and close the locked table (which normally contains no bookings, as these have been transferred to the offset table number) once so that the dispensing system can release it again.

beer tapping
Since you can pour the beer with a tolerance, this tolerance quantity remains as credit per beer. In some dispensing systems, this unwanted credit can be deleted by pressing a confirmation key (all beers ready), others delete the tolerance for each new booking of the corresponding beverage. If you want to sample beers, you can book this Hypersoft POS system on a virtual table number and cancel it to close the day.
Solution: Gruber dispensing systems support tapping by allowing an operator to tap into the "minus" with the so-called pre-tappingmode. The minus that occurs first is simply offset against later bookings.
liquor cabinet
Almost all common dispensing systems work with time-controlled spirits pourers. Please note that the temperature of the drinks will be the same as that of the later sale when you set the serving quantities (serving times). This is particularly important for drinks that change their viscosity significantly when they cool down.
In the case of deep-frozen beverages, freezing condensation water can even cause the valve to freeze.
Solution: Get expert advice on this. Alternatively, you can carry out the check with a digital scale, especially for spirits. This method is part of the Hypersoft control concept.
Drawers and shelves with control function
Drawers and shelves that control goods consumption by reducing weight can be a useful addition. Gruber's technology, in particular, enables reliable operation over many years, even when serving portions.
Clarify the number of different items you can use per drawer and calculate the exact amount of space required. Keep in mind that in most cases goods have to be delivered during one day.
Solution: Get advice on how to calculate demand and use Hypersoft Just In Time Delivery for optimal stocking of your points of sale.
Frank Dispensing Systems SCU Limitations
The Franke SCU interface does not support cancellations or table locking.
