Device Management Settings

If the device management is not yet in use, you will receive a welcome screen. If you have the Device Management permission, there is a button in it to activate it (otherwise a message will appear indicating that this permission is required).

Location management of device management

To enter and edit the location management, the user right Device location is required. To define your locations, select Location management in the three-point menu.

Site management has several functions:

- The unique assignment (especially with several similar devices) helps in case of support.

- You can use the list for your inventory.

- The location of devices and an accurate listing of all devices involved in the checkout process also play an important and increasing role in operational audits.

You get an overview of all already entered locations and can add and edit further locations with common control elements.

Deletions for subordinate locations...

Each site designation may exist only once. If you delete a parent location that has other child locations, these will also be deleted. To avoid these deletions, you can move the sub-locations to another branch beforehand. When all changes have been made, the dialog must be closed with Save (alternatively Cancel to discard all current changes).

User authorizations for device management

The authorizations can be accessed via the menu under User Administration and User Profiles.

In the user profiles, the device management is located under My company.

If the authorization is activated for device management, it can be opened but not edited.

To edit devices purchased directly from Hypersoft or through resellers, you will need the Manage Devices (Hypersoft) authorization. This can be used to report devices or to request quotations for devices with expired lifetime.

To define and edit device locations, such as the bar or the counter, the authorization Device location is required. If you want to view other hardware templates or device types, you need the authorization Manage Devices (Other). This is subdivided again into the points Edit and Delete. To view the administration of service partners, the Service Partner right is required, which is also divided into the Edit and Deleteitems.
