Orbit (cancelled)

The device has been discontinued for new installations. You will continue to receive support if required.

The Handheld Orbit (full touch with some buttons) together with the PUSH (with many fixed buttons and touchmonitor) is one of the hardware platforms for the mPOS handheld.

The Orbit is a touch device with four haptic function keys. The scanner is also suitable for QR codes and the device has particularly long battery life.

Warning against improper handling during charging

One of the most common causes of mobile device failures is defects in the charging contacts. These can be caused mechanically, by improper battery replacement or chemically by contamination. Batteries must never be changed under the influence of stress, as this can lead to incorrect operation, which can reflexively result in the application of inappropriate force. In addition, contacts are unfortunately soiled in practice, e.g. with sweat, drinks and even dipping sauces. If the devices are then connected so dirty for charging, galvanic reactions occur and the copper contacts dissolve or insulating layers form, which can lead to charging problems. Therefore, please ensure that such contact points are always kept clean and dry before placing devices in charging trays or connecting them to chargers.

Our tip : Training on how to change batteries in an orderly manner is standard for every employee with mobile devices and exchangeable batteries.

Multi Charger and 4-fold Charger

The charger safely stores the device during breaks and offers the possibility to charge a spare battery in parallel.

The Multi Charger holds and charges the device without removing the battery. A spare battery can be charged simultaneously in the rear area.

The 4-fold Charger holds and charges four devices simultaneously. However, no additional batteries can be charged.

A 4-way charger frees you from many individual devices and power supplies, but a spare power supply or second device should always be available in case of an emergency, so that four handhelds are not dependent on a functioning power supply.

The standard battery will last about 5-6 hours of average use and can be recharged in about 2 hours (actual values may vary depending on requirements and environment). The Enhanced battery lasts approx. 10-12 hours. Changing the battery should not be part of the daily routine for this device, as the rear part of the housing must be removed and clipped in again. An appropriate battery should be used from the outset.

key assignment

The orbit has 5 keys at the bottom ( and one at the top left / right ). The middle silver button and the two above trigger the scanner. More keys:

  • Green handset = F1 = Function menu
  • Home = F2 = Invoice
  • Back = F3 = New balance
  • Red handset = F4 = New balance
  • like F1, F2, F3 F4 on the IT-300.

Since the orbit has a border on the screen and you can't reach the top right corner with your finger, the "Red listener" key also presses the X in a dialog (if an X is currently displayed).
