Collectors and dimensions
Collectors assigned to merchandise categories are used for special reports in the Report Manager. You can assign collectors to merchandise categories and use these assignments to create collector breakdowns.
Dimensions are used in conjunction with merchandise categories for goods receipt export. If several expense accounts are assigned to the same dimension, the information is also differentiated.
You can create accounts by entering the numbers or letters and pressing Save. You can also immediately select a merchandise category to be assigned to the new account by choosing Save.
The assignment of collectors or dimensions to merchandise categories is done by selecting the merchandise category, then selecting the account and also by saving.
If you want to assign unassigned postings to a dimension, select them from the list and choose Save symbol for dimension not assigned.
Inheritance of the assignment
You can assign a collector, dimension, expense account, and revenue account to each merchandise category. This assignment is passed on to the underlying group.
In contrast to the Fibu account assignment, the information in these accounts is inherited only one level down. This means that an assignment to a main group does not apply to the subgroups below it. If you work with subgroups, you must assign accounts directly to them, or you have assigned accounts to the merchandise categories above them.
