Announcement

We have entered into cooperation with Treibauf AG from Zurich, the market leader for terminal connections in the DACH region. The company produces the middleware Pepper, which can be used in Switzerland, Austria and Germany with all data centres. Pepper checks the compatibility of the payment terminals per data centre, which ensure basic functionality (payments handed over, possible overpayments (tip) and termination messages or clear status of the payment order). For this purpose, we will document the functions and possibilities in the standard in the near future.

What does that mean for you?

In general, the use of payment terminals should become safer and easier for you. In the future, only compatibility with Pepper is to be tested in order to identify terminals that are basically compatible. These can be used at least if basic or simple requirements for a terminal connection are sufficient with regard to Hypersoft Pay.

We would like to comment on this:

  • Our previous ZVT connection remains intact. Existing customers will be able to continue working unchanged.

  • Hypersoft has a service contract with Treibauf, so as with all Hypersoft Pay solutions, we are there for you. Treibauf connections are among the most secure terminal connections on the market. Hypersoft will provide first level support as standard. In addition, the terminal supplier (their data centre) is responsible for coordinating with Treibauf as required. As a rule, however, Treibauf receives all firmware updates in advance, so that spontaneous failures caused by Treibauf are almost impossible.

  • Please coordinate planned uses with Treibauf with Hypersoft in advance. Just because a terminal is compatible with Pepper, there is no obligation on the part of Hypersoft to integrate it. We reserve the right to make our own decision in individual cases.

  • Once you have set up a Treibauf integration, it is usually possible to change the terminal to another type. However, please coordinate such things with Hypersoft in advance.

  • Things like PayPOS (mobile POS system with payment terminal integrated) must be tested on a case-by-case basis per data centre and terminal type and can then possibly be released.

Licensing of the driver connection

Hypersoft acquires the Treibauf Pepper licence for you as standard and pays this to Treibauf as a standard Pepper connection within the Hypersoft terminal connection for you. In the standard version, a Hypersoft Fair Use Flat (FuF) licence is used to integrate the payment terminals with Treibauf Pepper. See also IF 17 FuF: Fair use flat payment licence.
