The Orderman Base Station 4 (short OMB4) is made especially for the Orderman 7. It uses IP technology and does not require any special Orderman routers as its predecessors require for networking. It is not downward compatible with SOL/ DON/ MAX/ LEO. The Orderman 7 can also work in compatibility mode (DON/ MAX) with the predecessors of the base station.
Hypersoft supports the ability to use the OMB4 with Orderman 7 and MAX compatibility (but not with the MAX handheld itself).
The Orderman base station 4 (OMB4 for Orderman 7) is addressed for MAX emulation via an Orderman component (OCX). This uses a virtual COM port for initialization. This simulates a connection with a fixed serial number (serial number 60000). This happens even if the OMB4 is actually not reachable. Please note that the communication to the OMB4 cannot be guaranteed by the program.
