Things to note about the ticket system
The availability manager is used to sell and book only a predefined number of items. This can also be used in the ticket sales area. With the pool formation of the availability manager, you can solve special requirements for the ticket system. See Use availability manager with pooling and read the following paragraph for pooling in connection with the ticket system:
Special feature Ticket factor with pooling...
A special feature of tickets is that the ticket factor is also taken into account (a ticket can count more than 1 x).
Examples:
A. Day ticket for one person
B. Family ticket for 5 persons
If, for example, 2500 seats are available, the 2500 seats are stored for the day ticket (ticket factor = 1) and 500 seats for the family ticket (ticket factor 5). When booking one of the family tickets, the ticket factor 5 is now taken into account as follows: The family ticket itself is only reduced by one and in addition the day ticket is reduced by 5.
When booking a day ticket, the day ticket itself is reduced by one and the family ticket by 0.2 (1/5).
Decimal places of availability:
The availability manager does not show the decimal places but reduces the family tickets by one whole in the view. This means that the family ticket mentioned as an example is reduced mathematically to 499.8, but the availability manager then shows the decimal places as 499. Consequently, only 499 family tickets will be available. On the next day ticket, the family ticket is at 499.6 and it continues to show 499. Only when (after the fifth day ticket) the number falls below 499 will the next rounding off take place.
The ticket factor is always counted as the access factor on one day when forming the pool. The ticket factor itself can be used for other solutions but also for access on several days (weekend ticket). Therefore, if you use the ticket factor for the number of days, you should not use such tickets in a pool with other items and factors, as the different use of the ticket factor is understandably incompatible with the previously described example.
