System groups

If you are working with a lot of data regarding items and locations and the articles, it is a good idea to group them so that the item master is clearer. Especially if you manage more than one brand or concept with the item master, the system groups are very useful to increase the overview.

  • The system groups are applied in the item master.
  • You can create as many groups as you like.
  • A client can only be assigned to one group, not several.

The programme is called up via the locations of the master information:

Designations of the system groups are defined on the left. Locations can be assigned to each system group. Use the buttons Remove and Add or double-click to add or remove locations from the system group. (Note: Creating, changing or deleting system groups has no other negative effects).

Select system group...

The system groups expand the location filter; if system groups are set up, they appear for selecting and filtering the then subsequent location selection:

If a system group is selected, the location management is activated (if not already active). The signal colour changes to green to communicate that you are within a system group at location management:

Due to the preselection made above, only the locations of the selected system group appear in the location selection:

The item list now shows ( as with a location filter ) only those items that are active for at least one location of this group. Selecting a location has no effect on the filter. Also the dialogue for the deviations of the locations now only shows the locations of the system group:

Create new item with selected system group...

A note "... system group" appears in the same colour:

Creating the item within the system group causes the following automatic settings: The item is saved normally to the item master with the setting Item inactive and at the same time a deviation is created for each location of this system group where this item is not inactive. Thus, the item is only active for the locations of the system group.
