Guest Check Printer

Guest Check printers are mainly used in the upscale catering industry. There, the payment voucher is issued on DIN A5 or similarly sized forms. Forms and paper emphasise upscale ambience and the overall impression created is an important detail when dealing with guests.

High-quality Guest Check printers do not have a paper feeder; the operator inserts the forms individually. Printers like the TM-J7700 also have an integrated plain paper printer for 76mm cash register rolls, which also benefits from high-quality inkjet printing.

Epson TM-J7700

The inkjet printer from Epson not only enables a particularly clean print image, but also supports the printing of the TSE text and optionally the TSE QR-COde for Germany with a small, easily readable font.

Not only are the prints detailed (600 dpi compared to 180 dpi on the previous model) - these devices are also about twice as fast, with print speeds of up to 100 mm/s compared to 43 mm/s on the previous models.

The printer can alternately print guest cheques and cash register rolls. The cash register rolls can be used for order receipts or other forms.

Handling

When you insert a Guest Check, it is "held" by the printer so that printing can begin. If the ink cartridge is empty, a "no ink" warning light flashes. The guest cheque is then no longer "held" until the new ink cartridge has been inserted.

Please stock sufficient ink cartridges for all situations so that the printer can always function safely.

Also make sure that a cash register roll is inserted.

  • Switch off the printer and the computer. Make sure that the printer connection cable is firmly connected.

  • Make sure that there are no packing materials in the printer.

  • Switch off the printer and the computer and disconnect the printer's interface cable. Then print a printer test page. See Performing a Printer Test.

  • If the printer test page printed correctly, make sure that the printer software and the user software have been installed correctly.

  • If the printer makes printing noises but does not print anything, start the Print Head Cleaning utility.

  • If this does not solve the problem, replace the ink cartridges. For more information, see Replacing empty ink cartridges.

The No Paper indicator light flashes or lights up....

  • If the No Paper indicator light comes on and there is no paper in the printer, place paper in the cut-sheet feeder.

  • When the No Ink indicator light flashes, this indicates a low ink level. Buy a replacement ink cartridge of the appropriate type.

  • If the No ink indicator light is on and the ink cartridge is empty, replace the corresponding ink cartridge. For more information on how to determine which ink cartridge is empty, see Replacing empty ink cartridges.

The error indicator light comes on and the operating light flashes....

Proceed according to the following steps:

  • Press the paper button and remove any paper from the printer.

  • Switch off the printer. Check for foreign materials or pieces of paper inside the printer and remove them if necessary. Also make sure that there is enough free space around the ventilation slots on the back of the printer to ensure adequate ventilation. Remove all objects blocking the ventilation slots. Then switch the printer on again. Note: If you cannot easily remove the foreign object yourself, contact Hypersoft Support.

  • Then switch the printer on again.

interfaces

The built-in USB as well as Ethernet interface serves a seamless integration into the Hypersoft POS system.

The USB interface may require extra software.

Consumables

As a rule, restaurateurs order the forms (usually in DIN A5 format) from their local printers or specialist companies.

Hypersoft supplies the ink cartridges, which should only be Epson originals, especially for this high-quality device. Since the printer works economically, the costs are low.

Thanks to their design, the new ink cartridges are easy to install, even in hectic business environments. The ink used offers better water and light resistance than a dot matrix printer - so receipts and documents last longer. In addition, the easy-to-insert paper rolls allow for quick changes at the counter.

The upper section uses a standard plain paper roll, which is also compatible with Hypersoft dot matrix printers.
