Fraud Report voucher

This report evaluates transactions for which value vouchers were used for payment and which were previously completed.

It is a question of determining whether the voucher was redeemed by the customer or whether the transaction was paid for without a voucher and the subsequent use of the voucher served to enrich a third party. Of course, it is not always possible to determine these facts unequivocally, but the Voucher Fraud Report provides you with the most important information and already carries out a pre-sorting, measuring how many minutes have elapsed between the first completion of the transaction and the subsequent redemption of a voucher. Basically, they have to assume that customers will only bring the value voucher into play once the operator has presented the invoice and thus many transactions have to be reopened. As a rule, you will not avoid this even if conditions to the contrary are written on the voucher, such as "Only valid if presented before payment". In doing so, you may compromise the actual target group and reduce the success of the voucher, while also giving "third parties" further ideas or even asking customers "Don't you have a voucher?" before paying. (Faux pas!).

The sorting is based on the time span between the original completion of the transaction and the booking of the voucher. Generally speaking, you can control three things in any case:

  1. When, after the guests have paid, an operator hurriedly goes back to work at the till without having taken any more orders.
  2. If the time between the first transaction and the use of the voucher is unusually long.
  3. If an operator notes or credits an above-average number of vouchers.

The exact duration of "unusually long" and the appropriate average values can be obtained from the practice of your company.

The groups are divided into the following time periods:

1. More than an hour
2. More than 30 minutes but less than one hour
3. More than 15 minutes but less than 30 minutes
4. More than 5 minutes but less than 15 minutes
5. More than one minute but less than 5 minutes
6. Less than one minute

The voucher name from The voucher (offline) management and any special features are also listed, for example, an invitation amount (Web Vouchers Special Cards) or the bonus portion of a bonus voucher are listed separately. Both the redeemed voucher value and the transaction amount are included in the list as amounts.
