Correct stocks
In the standard system, the theoretical stocks are corrected automatically. This happens through regular checks of the actual stock. If the inventory management is not yet set up 100% correctly, or exceptions have occurred in the automation, then it may be necessary to correct the inventories manually as described here. This is also best done in the same way as a normal control entry, by simply entering the actual stock for the items to be corrected and performing a corrective control closure (for this you should be familiar with control entry). Proceed as follows:
- To do this, go to the Control Input programme.
- Choose StartControl to use the current comparison time. Caution: If cash entries are being made, the stock of the items you want to correct may be changed during your entry. Cancel the correction or decide that the correction should also be performed in this situation.
- Make a check entry for the items to be corrected.
- Post a control closure to apply the corrections.
Observe the rules of the automated stock ledger, especially in the case of manual interventions...
Since, as a rule, the stocks are automatically correct (and only differences due to fraud should arise), more extensive deviations are an indication of possible misunderstandings. You should know exactly how the system acts and reacts, especially in complex corrections within a sales cycle. In addition to a basic understanding of inventory management and the options in the chapter Choosing the optimal inventory management system Inventory Management, you should also consider the special feature as described under Replenishment increases starting stock for TTA for safety.
Changing the stocks from the cashier mode
Depending on how the programme is used, it may be necessary to adjust the stocks from the cashier mode. The control input is designed to be started directly from the cashier mode. For this purpose, you can also call up the control input from the cashier mode to carry out the manual correction.
