Setting up label and barcode printers

It is possible to create (adhesive) labels using the TM-L90 printer. The print can contain a barcode in addition to the price and item information. Using this barcode, the respective item can be booked at the POS terminal using a barcode scanner.

One possible application is to create barcode labels, which are later applied to the sales items. The barcode scanner then enables fast and secure booking at the checkout.

In general, the printer can be set up as an order receipt printer for the POS system as described below and can also be used for the Kitchen Monitor system.

Support barcodes...

  • EAN8
  • EAN13
  • UPCA
  • Barcodes generated in Hypersoft

Compatible printer type is the Epson TM-L90 . See also: Label receipt printer.

Set up label printer

The label barcode printer prints an order similar to an order receipt. However, this order is printed here on a barcode label.

This variant uses a special Windows printer driver and instead of the order group settings, a layouter is provided here.

Hypersoft will provide you with special labels that have a marking strip on the back of the carrier film. The marking strip serves as orientation for the printer to cut the backing film (roll).

Activate printer type in the Hypersoft system...

In order for this special printer type to be activated, the Ticket Printer switch must be activated in the General section of the ward settings.

(This setting indicates that this mode (with the windows printer driver) is not compatible with the Kitchen Monitor System).

The order group must also be set accordingly.

Setting up the printer driver

With this printer type, a special Windows printer driver must be installed on the terminal. Install the printer ONLY TEXT (not an Epson printer driver) and give the printer the name TML90.

The interface is correct according to the actual interface used by the TML90. Only use the spelling TML90 as the printer name:

Determine layout

To determine the layout, use the Edit label layouts button. See the description of editing in the section Set up barcodes.
