Daily closing and cash register cut

The cash cut is a procedure in which the payment terminal closes the accounting period and the computer centre executes the payments. The cash cut is thus obligatory for many data centres.

Forgotten or late cash register cuts lead to delays in charging your customers and receiving payment in your account.

Simplified procedure with Hypersoft Pay powered by Adyen

With Hypersoft Pay powered by Adyen, the otherwise obligatory cash register cut for payment terminals does not have to be carried out (not in the eSolutions area anyway).

With Adyen, the cash cut is optional and any payments are paid out even without a cash cut. However, if you want to carry out a cash cut, you can do this via the standard process with report 69, just as with conventionally connected payment terminals. The Verifone Portable V400M Hypersoft Pay Edition may issue a final report no. 69 also print out directly at the terminal.

Cash cut at the end of a billing period

At the end of a day or billing period, most data centres (not Adyen) require you to produce a final report. If you work with payment terminals linked to Hypersoft, make the so-called /cash cut with by calling up the front office report no. 69, which you please execute before the normal daily closing of the cash register system. Report 69 as a macro is to be created on the keyboard for this purpose. You can use the operator authorisations to determine which operators are allowed to perform the cash register cut by assigning the corresponding reports.

Although several reports can be automatically included in the daily financial statement, reports 68 and 69 cannot. These must be carried out separately before closing.

Important to receive the money

If you work with card devices, you must perform the checkout cut so that the payments are processed by the data centre and enter your account (not necessary with Hypersoft Pay powered by Adyen).

The day the cash cut is made can become the day your customer's credit card is charged.

If you delay the cash register cut, the cardholder may not be able to establish the interface with the previous visit (even if the latter is informed of the original posting date in addition to the late debit date).

The cash cut of your card device is therefore (depending on the data centre) a business process that you must ensure.
