Hypersoft POS POS Terminals

The Hypersoft Pay powered by Adyen section describes special functions for tips. The special tipping functions in the terminals (called direct tipping in the Adyen firmware) are thus only supported in this system.

For all tips, please observe the legal regulations as described in the section Book a tip.

Note the pioneering implementation of the full-service payment process with Hypersoft Pay@Table.

default setting

For the standard settings use the settings here: Configure cashless payment terminals

After entering the payment amount, the customer is prompted to enter the tip amount or can add this amount as a tip by pressing the green "Confirm" button or skip this step without entering a number and leave no tip.

Direct Tipping / Direct Tipping

We can configure the following options of the card device for you via remote support:

  • You can define two different option choices per currency, below and above a threshold amount.
  • Up to four options can be defined per choice. We automatically add an option to skip the tip.
  • An option can be set for:
    • a certain amount,
    • a percentage of the purchase amount (the terminal displays the percentage plus the calculated amount),
    • or for a custom tip (this will display a screen where the buyer can enter a tip).
  • We can add buttons for you with different options (percentage or amount) and also different per currency (for example, if you often have guests paying in USD).

The variant for direct tipping shown here also complements direct tipping in the full service as described at Hypersoft Pay@Table.

Best Practice Direct Tipping in the Quick Service

There are many quick-service concepts in which the operator performs services for the guest or takes individual adjustments to the order into account. Especially there, the option of a cashless tip should also be offered so that the customer can say thank you. We found a high multiplication of tips in the field test at this point. As a result, staff motivation and customer satisfaction increased to such an extent that it led to a demonstrable improvement in the success of the business model. Offering a tip at the payment terminal is by no means intrusive, in fact it frees good customers from embarrassing ambiguity on the matter - the bond with your brand is strengthened with tipping customers.

Indirect Tipping

In the case of indirect tipping, the terminal displays the original purchase amount and a prompt for entering the total amount (the entry must be at least the original amount). By entering a higher total amount the customer adds a tip. After the customer has entered the total amount, the terminal will ask the customer to show his card and (if necessary) complete the payment by entering his PIN or signature.

See Pay@Table Query of the payment methodfor this.
