Card management 2.0
With the new customer base 2.0 you can use the card management for vending and catering (requires the Cashless Options Licence licence). For this purpose, the map data is additionally stored in an online map database and can be used there across locations and also together with Mobile People Accounting.
The previous standard card management is documented in the Configure card managementCard Management section.
Activate card management
If the customer master 2.0 is activated, the switch Carryprepaid credit in portal appears.
The switch ensures that when Mifare cards (and other compatible cards, if any) are used, a prepaid credit stored on the card is uploaded to the portal for overview / evaluation.
- The system requires communication with the Hypersoft portal. If this communication fails, the card check (cashless) is performed locally. This means that the information about the configuration of the card (not the credit) from the last successful feedback of the portal is used. Attention: this option is not yet available for new cards or for the first use.
- To ensure that no card credit can be overwritten in the event of an error, the local card credit has priority (the local card credit is reported to the portal, but it is not transferred from the portal back to the POS).
Security system...
If the medium is removed from the reader/writer during the writing process, this could lead to a doubling of the credit in the worst case. A check is therefore carried out to see whether the medium is on-hook and visually displayed; after it is on-hook, the medium is read again and an off-balance entry is created if necessary.
Use the button Card transfer to download card credits. This function is always needed when a card has been lost. The card number must be known for the transfer and the prepaid credit must be carried in the portal must have been activated. After confirming card transfer, enter the old and the new card number:
With Check the card number can be checked for validity within your system. To perform the transfer, press the button Transfer balance from A to B.
The credit is saved at the location during the download and does not have to be written to the new card immediately. This saves you from having to keep a card reader and writer at this point. The next time the new card is used at the POS system, the credit is then automatically written to the new card.
Should the lost card turn up against the odds, the credit on the old card will be physically removed. So you can safely replace lost cards with this workflow.
