Connecting locations

In addition to the possibility of operating individual cash registers, you can network them both within a company (a client) and also connect a system of several clients.

You can maintain master data, such as items, in one place within a client or in a group of several clients and make it available to all devices. Deviations, rules and exceptions can be conveniently managed per device and client.

The transaction data, such as item postings, can then be summarized again in a journal. From this, you create evaluations, which you then group, filter, or summarize according to sales points, profit centers, or other conditions.

Connections within a LAN

Basically, it is possible to network any number of cash registers within a client in a company with a local network (LAN). In addition, you can also network several clients within a LAN. At this point there is a limit of about 5-7 clients maximum. To overcome this limit, web clearing can also be used in the LAN (which is actually intended for networking different locations via the Internet).

Networking remote locations via the Internet

If the devices or the clients are in more distant locations, they can be networked via the Internet and with Hypersoft Webclearing. This programme also extends the possibilities of the connections by those options that are common and used in "branch systems".

Networking with point of sale clearing within a LAN

If you are unable to network all tills via LAN in a particular client's building, you can use point-of-sale clearing; if you want to network several businesses with a central office, then web clearing is also used.

Name of different client types

designation property
Independent client Independent location without interface to a central office.
site client Client of a site connected to a central system.
central client Central client of a central system (rather a template, preferably not productive).
Central Subclient Represents a location client (item master from central central client).
Central sub-client Represents a location client with a singular item master.

Site management

Site management is a basic feature of the Hypersoft Suite. It is based on multi-client capability, which makes it possible to synchronize stores and take local variances into account.

Basically, it is a matter of digitizing in any structures of companies with the same or similar concepts (from the point of view of the data) and thus simplifying things and making them more manageable.

In site management, you specify a client for the central client, who can manage and provide master data for additional location clients.

  • Master clients send their data to the site client and receive transaction data from there for evaluation.
  • A central client compares the data with only one branch client.
  • In the head office, you can work with one central client and one or more central sub-clients within a client structure. However, we recommend using a single central client if it is possible to maintain the master data accordingly with reasonable effort.

For central evaluation, we can transfer transaction data from all types of site clients to the head office.

The Master client must have the client number 1.

Company structure with central clients

If you want to manage several companies centrally, you can create them as independent clients. They then have their own independent data.

Central client and synchronised locations

If you want your companies to use the same data, you can set up store clients for your locations, where data can be synchronized with the master client.

Thanks to the integrated branch management, you can set up relationships between clients or share data. For example, manage the vendor master across clients - but store different order variants as required and per store. You can use a central item master to efficiently manage the master data for your stores, since generally valid information only needs to be entered once and local variances can be adjusted easily.

Web clearing and trading area clearing

The Web Clearing program is used to compare the data between the store clients and the master client, or between the independent clients in the stores and in the head office.

Point of sale clearing is a variant in which the POS terminals of any number of points of sale (similar to branches) can be compared between different locations within a client. This system is to be understood as an emergency solution in the absence of a network infrastructure and does not support all Hypersoft programmes and functions.

Clearing in conjunction with Hypersoft eSolutions

Web clearing transports the data to the locations and the eSolutions such as the webshop and self-order kiosk (SOT) are also supplied with data accordingly. This means that the article master matching the POS system is available at the SOT or in the web shop of a location.

Use the special point-of-sale clearing function with Hypersoft eSolutions...

If you use point of sale clearing, you must add a separate client number for the associated point of sale. This additional client number has the side effect that you can select the point of sale as an additional location for the eSolutions area. Additionally, assigning items to a point of sale can then account for deviating items within a location for the point of sale. You can therefore use this method in the eSolutions area not only to define the selection of articles per location, but also to take into account deviations within a location.

Connection of offline cash registers

When it comes to simply "connecting" cash registers or if no Internet connection at all is possible, cash registers can also be supplied with new master data via USB stick and the booking data/movement data can be transferred to the head office.

Automatic updates with multiple sites

The automatic updates at the branches are based on the update group of the head office. Before all branches and the head office install the update at the same time, the systems coordinate with each other.

You can be provided with automatic updates delayed by several days or weeks so that you can be sure that they have already proven themselves with a large customer base. Contact Hypersoft Support for the appropriate setting.

Influence of the software maintenance status on updates...

Please make sure that the head office and the locations are equally equipped with a software maintenance contract in order to automatically receive the respective updates. Sites without a software maintenance contract cannot be updated. As a result, sites with outdated versions are excluded from web clearing.

Solve or add site clients

A single site can become the basis of a central system.

It is also possible to detach a location client from its head office, so that in future it will act as an independent client. This requires minor intervention by our support team.

However, the interface of an existing site client with an existing headquarters is only possible seamlessly under rarely applicable conditions. If necessary, the different master data and transaction data can be merged by extensive interventions. It is better to put a client into the idle state and to start a new client that is suitable for the central location.
