Barcodes and QR codes

Barcodes have become particularly popular for item identification, but are also successfully used for customer cards and employee cards. QR codes are often used in marketing because, in addition to the possibility of storing more information, their ability to call up a URL (and thus a website) is particularly popular.

Use the barcode and QR code devices recommended by Hypersoft and follow our recommendations when creating maps and other machine readable media.

Format for web vouchers

The voucher number consists of a 14-digit identification number and a 4-digit PIN.

To load a voucher or to check the balance at the cash register system, you need the 14-digit voucher number. In order to use a voucher for payment, the 14-digit voucher number and the 4-digit PIN is required.

Depending on how you use the system, you can integrate the PIN in the voucher number so that the voucher holder does not need it.

The barcode or QR code on a voucher or voucher card can therefore be created as an 18-digit code including PIN or as a 14-digit code without the 4-digit PIN.

Recommended barcode type: Code-128

Example barcode in one piece including PIN, 18-digit barcode:

Example two barcodes separated into voucher number and PIN:

If you disconnect the PIN, it can be scanned by extra barcode, extra QR code or it can be entered manually.

The main difference between barcode and QR-code is the possible automatic call of a landing page, as well as the impression/social importance of the different systems.

QR Code Example...

HYGS = here 18 digits 14 + 4(PIN)

HYNR = customer number at Hypersoft.

It is also possible to create the code without a PIN, but the code should then be printed on the card or handed out separately. If there is no PIN in the code, the POS system queries it. The integration or separate entry of the PIN for the interface to display the balance on your homepage is also a variant.

So you can enable a customer to go via QR code to a landing page that automatically displays the balance of the card from your Hypersoft system.

In the example image, the voucher number is also displayed under the QR code, which enables you to enter it manually if the QR code is not legible . For the layout, we recommend the following minimum dimensions for the code area: 2x2.7cm with font size Arial 8pt (easy to read). If you use Arial 7pt for the font size of the number, plan for the area, 2x2,5cm (incl. number).

The contrast black/white is important for readability, so avoid colored backgrounds (metallic backgrounds such as silver and gold are particularly bad).

Text or QR Code Print

You can print a QR code directly at the POS on the standard printer (the printer that is stored in the system for the first form is used). This is useful, for example, if you want a digital menu card for your customers. To do this, use the Execute cash register function.

barcode cards

You can use cards with barcodes with the Hypersoft POS cash register system to log operators in to the cash register mode, open customer transactions or personnel transactions. The maps must be created according to fixed specifications.

Format for barcode cards...

The barcode type 128 is used. The first two digits specify the type of barcode card, followed by the respective five-digit numbers (xxxxx):

AAxxxxx Operator card for logging on in CLOU or ePOS tablet checkout mode and Hypersoft POS time recording (the numbers behind AA are not intended for personnel numbers etc., the card can be freely assigned to an operator).

ABxxxxx Staff card opens a staff procedure for the staff member stored in the coding based on the assigned staff number. (It does not matter whether the personnel number is given with leading zeros).

ACxxxxx Customer card which is assigned to a fixed customer on the basis of the customer number (e.g. AC10001 opens a customer transaction for customer no. ACxxxxx). 10001).

If you would like to assign AC-coded cards to a customer other than a fixed customer data record, please activate the option Use transaction cards with person and card characteristics.

If you generally want to create customer cards without fixed customers, you can also store any other number (e.g. 99100001) as TYP128, which can then be assigned to a customer.

Please make sure that these numbers are not also already used as barcodes for item, voucher or other functions, as this would otherwise lead to incorrect behaviour.

If you want to use barcodes as process cards for MOBILE PEOPLE, use the EAN13 barcode. Format:
