Smart Swap
The Smart Swap function can change the settings for the output of order receipts or forms depending on table numbers that you can enter as ranges. This means, for example, that order vouchers are always issued at the terrace bar when drinks are ordered on the terrace, or invoices are automatically issued at the printer that is nearby.
This functionality is achieved by a table in which you assign any cash registers for table number ranges that are to take care of the printing. Each POS station can apply different printer settings. If there are not enough tills for the number of different settings required or the desired print settings do not correspond to the tills, you can use subsystems and control them as another till.
In addition, you can assign different price levels to table number ranges in Smart Swap (without having to switch to a different POS for this). Thus, for example, your off-site table numbers (usual procedure) could automatically switch prices.
Smart Swap also processes bookings coming from dispensing systems. In this context, other price levels are usually applied via SmartSwap (since credit-side dispensing system entries usually do not trigger an order voucher and therefore no printout is made).

Important facts about SmartSwap
Note that the settings for a Smart Swap subsystem must be as complete as the settings for other POS stations. Example: If an order group is not assigned to a printer in the cash register for the Smart Swap, an error occurs due to a missing order receipt and the printing is routed to the own setting! An incorrectly configured printer or the missing configuration of an alternative printer is just as incorrect there as it is at a checkout where you are using cashier mode.
Transfer postings from one transaction area to another do not participate in Smart Swap.
A checkout whose printer settings are used for Smart Swap does not need to run in checkout mode if it does not control printers itself, but only uses approved printers (printers controlled by other checkout systems).
If you are using Smart Swap, you must ensure that the Booking POS has access to these printers when using printer settings from other POSs. A receipt printer set up as a local printer only cannot be accessed via Smart Swap even while cashier mode is running.
Smart Swap in conjunction with mPOS
The mPOS and the CLOU MOBILE for Orderman System have each their own Smart Swap setting which basically serve the same purpose. Depending on the use, other functions are also supported there and extended requirements for setting up the system are solved.
Since the mobile systems transfer the print jobs to the POS systems, the Smart Swap settings there are applied additionally and subsequently. The last Smart Swap setting of the POS system applies if this is the case.
Rules for Smart Swap at mPOS and CLOU MOBILE for Windows
When a transaction is opened or created, mPOS determines (via the Smart Swap default) the point of sale. The result of a product group search or full-text search (depending on the sales point assigned by the transaction and SmartSwap) thus only shows the items that have been assigned to that sales point. However, if you use fixed buttons, they will continue to display the programmed items even if they do not belong to a point of sale. The goods are then posted to the storage location of the item (based on the setting in the item master), if necessary. However, fixed keys can be individually programmed by the possible three schemes so that the operator can decide on a scheme when logging in or this corresponds with the SmartSwap.
Please note that only mobile WLAN printers can be controlled via the POS system. The respective mPOS or CLOU MOBILE system is responsible for the printers directly connected to the mobile device via Blue-tooth.
Smart Swap with the Online Connector
The Online Order Connector has its own Smart Swap system, the use of which is described in the section Using SmartUse Smart Swap with Online Order.
