SOT Pyramid Passport 32 Outdoor

We obtain our SOT hardware from the market leader for SOT hardware in Germany, Pyramid: https: //pyramid-computer.com/

For technical data, see the hardware table SOT Pyramid Passport 32 Outdoor

Pyramid works to industry standards with very high quality requirements, is also innovative and produces the technical solutions with almost unbeatable efficiency in terms of TCO. The SOTs that are used can be managed by service partners and you as a customer without complex special knowledge. In the constellation with Hypersoft SOTs, Hypersoft is your direct contact for the support of the SOTs, holistically for both the hardware and the software.

Special conditions for outdoor use

For on-site installation, you need to make a foundation for the outdoor unit. The fixing and connection should also be carried out by you or your contractors. Although the unit is suitable for outdoor use with varying weather conditions, it is not vandal-proof. The unit is protected against splashing water caused by rain, but not against a hard water or steam jet, for example. The unit contains a heater and passive cooling for the north orientation of the display to ensure the defined operating temperature. Therefore, make sure that the unit is safely supplied with power even when not in use.

  • Temperature range -15°C to +40°C

  • Impact protection IK7

  • Ingress protection IP54

Active cooling with non-north orientation...

An actively cooled version of the unit is available for south-facing use.

LAN connection preferred...

Even if the unit is equipped with a Teltonika router as standard, you should use a LAN connection if possible.

In the event of a technical malfunction...

The most important thing in advance: The SOT is designed in such a way that it usually functions for the planned period of use without malfunctions. This also does not require any of the maintenance services normally associated with vending machines. This is also part of the environmentally friendly and at the same time cost-saving concept of the Hypersoft SOT.

In the event of any technical fault, simply contact your trusted Hypersoft support. We then determine together whether it is a software or a hardware problem and take care of both - another advantage of a complete solution from a single source.

As all components comply with high-quality industry standards and were designed with this in mind, you can easily replace them yourself and arrange free support with our support team. The following spare parts are so easily exchanged:

  • Multifunctional industrial power supply for SOT and peripherals

  • Integrated industrial PC (with only one plug connection)

  • SOT Printer

  • SOT Scanner

  • and of course the payment terminal from Hypersoft Pay powered by Adyen, for which we also provide all services.

The touch screen and other components can of course also be replaced if necessary.

The Remote Commander is available for all support and interventions in the standard. For the operation of the SOT, the Remote Commander was extended as described in the section Out of service and similar situations.

See also SOT Information for Administrators.

Service call from SOT User

Your customers can trigger a service call when needed. The individual text of the notification is then displayed at the respective checkout or other station using the messaging system. You determine this in the settings of the SOT service messages.

Other PCs that are not cash registers can also display the service call.

Before the service call is triggered, the user is asked whether the service should really be called.

SOT printer VKP 80 in practice

Important here: The cashless payment receipt should be printed together with the customer receipt so that it does not fall on the floor (when another receipt is printed). The printer should print all the receipts in one piece without cutting and then offer the finished cumulative receipt for removal. The SOT printer is specially designed so that the document cannot be pulled while the printer is printing. Incorrect settings that allow pulling during printing definitely lead to defective printers. Therefore, the special SOT printer can finish the print internally and only then eject it. Any error document should also be switched off, otherwise it may fall down.

A SOT printer must function 100%. Unlike at the POS, it can happen, for example, that customers want to pull on the paper while printing, or that "children" put something into the print slot. These things pose no problems for the SOT printer we have specially selected.

At the SOT, your customer is offered a small piece of paper at lightning speed from the flashing output of the printer to take out. At this moment, the entire receipt has already been printed and is available in the background in the printer, ready for collection, so that it can be received easily and securely.

The technology places demands on the paper quality...

The unusually high printing speed and safe removal technique requires a certain "stiffness" and compatible weight of the paper (so that it does not fold and jam due to inertia). Our special and particularly inexpensive 150 m long thermal rolls ensure trouble-free operation. The precise sensors also do not allow the use ofCompatibility of special paper grades "Blue Paper and other non-standards.

The use of a 150 m roll enables you to operate the SOT largely without interruption, which is increased many times over if you use the NoCOO short document on the SOT. NoCOO provides the invoice and the payment terminal customer receipt digitally and also displays the superhero function for the SOT. The Hypersoft Pay powered by Adyen Portal replaces a classic merchant receipt for you.

Insert paper roll correctly in the SOT printer...

A video on changing the paper roll for you...

It is important to load the paper correctly to prevent interference. The paper must be fed from the bottom rear to the deflection roller - and from there into the printer from the rear:

Detailed instructions: print outas DIN A 4 PDF also here and place e.g. in the SOT...

No replacement rolls available...

If you have missed timely reorders, use the core of the expired roll and wind the paper of a standard roll tightly, or your standard thermal roll even has a compatible core to bridge the time until the original rolls arrive. But even 150-metre rolls are used up at some point. To ensure that this neither surprises you nor goes unnoticed, we have integrated another security system:

Printer messages to station...

The Hypersoft POS printer management can generate messages in case of malfunctions (the operators know this when, for example, the POS printer cover was not closed properly). In order for your operators to see the SOT printer messages at the POS, you can select a station for printer messages, which will be notified in case of print faults. As a rule, this will only be in the messages that the paper will soon be used up. If your employees do not have time at the moment, the system repeats the message at the next printout or based on your desired interval.

When the paper runs out, a sensor detects this and an error message appears on the SOT. Operation is then no longer possible. To prevent this from happening in practice, there is another sensor that detects when the paper is almost used up. This status is then reported to the POS system. See the Bon roll sensor on the SOT section for the best way to set this up for you.

Arrange with your co-worker a procedure that immediately after this message, the special long paper roll again, so that it can not come to a paper end with a customer.

Many things about handling are described right here. The Pyramid SOT Printer VKP 80 section is about more advanced things, but they also influence the error messages described here.
