SOT Information for Administrators

The integration of the SOT at the site is based on the mPOS system. This allows most of the communication to be done on site. Each SOT and each of the integrated payment terminals shall be connected to the POS server via a LAN.

A derivative of the Hypersoft webshop operates on the SOT and is optimised and tested for use as a SOT exclusively for Google Chrome Browser. Thus, this web browser must be available in a current widespread version in order to call up the programme. At the start of the SOT, the latest item and marketing data information is retrieved from the Hypersoft Portal. From then on, until the next restart, the SOT will simply work together with the local POS system without Internet access (however, a stable Internet connection should always be available).

The Online Order Connector must be set up and activated.

The Hypersoft Remote Commander is also available as standard for service work on the SOT.

Duty of supervision (also) with payment terminals...

Although the SOTs and the standard payment terminals are intended for self-service by their customers, they are not intended to be operated unattended. See also Supervision and safety regulations with payment terminals.

Protection against technical misuse...

The integrated PC technology and browsers are usually not protected in an all-encompassing way.

The tablet mode of Windows must be deactivated, otherwise an input keyboard can be called up on the screen with gestures.

In addition, you can make further requirements for your IT security in consultation with Hypersoft Support if necessary. In general, for this reason too, the protective SOT software for administrators was not circumvented and the Remote Commander was optimised for processing the SOTs.

Technical data...

Questions about dimensions, brackets and customisation options are dealt with in the Hardware for Hypersoft section.

Note on server maintenance and interruptions (below):

Since the SOT works without a server, you can keep it running during these times. If you restart the SOT exactly during the maintenance time specified here, it may not work. If the SOT is blocked by this, restart it later.

Planned maintenance times and system availability

Please note that our servers are temporarily unavailable every first Wednesday of the month between 03:00 and 05:00 (CET) due to planned maintenance and system updates. We ask for your understanding for these necessary measures to ensure system stability.

Virtual machines (VMs) of your eSolutions

All customers who use Hypersoft eSolutions (such as APP or Webshop) have their own virtual machine (VM). To carry out security updates and system maintenance, these VMs are checked every third Wednesday of the month between 04:00 and 07:00 (CET).

During this period, there may be temporary restrictions or interruptions to the availability of your eSolutions.

We thank you for your understanding - these measures serve the security and reliability of your systems.
